  question for any ex-bethelites....or anyone else who might know.. after serving (aka being slaves) at the brooklyn bethel my sister and brother in law are leaving because she is pregnant.

  im just curious about something.

  how long is it normally in such circumstances before a couple leaves?

  14 Minutes and you are not a Servant of Jehovah

  last night we were discussing the "new light" that was revealed to the gb recently from jehovah.

  many of us recall all the co talks and elder parts based on the bible text of how a true servant of jah would not be "inactive or irregular" for years one was required to have at least one hour to be considered a servant of jah.. as the sec in my hall i recall so many times calling up friends to get thier time and hearing them break crying cause they didn't have 60min only about 45min- and they knew that it meant they were not servants of jah.

  now with the new light from jw a person with only 14 minutes of time will now be disqualified as being a servant of jah.. it is amazing how many jw will view this arrangement as a "loving provision from jah" instead of realizing that thier service to thier god has been reduced to whether they get 15min or 14 min.

  Anyone know anything concrete about the Masons & The Illuminati? I've read some things here and there on the net but nothing outside of general ramblings? I've heard the typical, "they run the freeworld", "when you become one, you're one for life", "you'll have a great hookup if you're one of them" spiel. I know someone who is a Mason, but you can't get anything out of him about it. It's almost a deathly silence (even after drinking) whenever the topic comes up.

  I hear there are like 32 levels to become a full-fledged Mason but I really know nothing concrete beyond that outside of the fact that they throw great orgy parties and such. Anybody know anything about this group?

  below is an email---just another example in a long history of having bethel speakers speculate on issues and matters that will never be put into print- yet for the poor listeners they leave with a feeling of new light.

  we have all seen this type of info from the boys from bethel only to be told that it was the bro opinion and not the org- when the sh!t hit s the fan.

  the org is fully aware that they have men with 20-50 yrs of bethel service out there giving goof balls talks and building up the hope of the rank and file knowing full well it will never happen or be true.

  Man, ain't this the truth? Many of these Bethel speakers know good and well that what they say will be parotted, celebrated, and repeated by the rank-and-file and yet Bethel lets them keep jacking-off on people's hopes. Definitely has been a pet peeve of mine for years.

  Paradise - I Think I'll Pass........

  one thing that has always kinda ticked me off with the society depiction of paradise, is the completely bland, devoid of personality, stepford wives-ish look given to paradise pics in the publications over the years.

  peeps walkin' around smilin' for no reason, no attention given to a cultivation of technology, the arts, space exploration.

  there never seemed to be any point to paradise.

  Kudos to you Met, you've hit the nail on the head on this one. In fact, I was gonna start a thread on this myself. New light, change in organizational procedures, Bethel adjustments; MOST of that has been instituted by those deemed as dissenters.

  Items like the "1914 generation" and etc., was already started by many of the friends who used to have those "maverick" watchtower/bible studies in Bethel rooms back in the late 70's/early 80's. That "new light" originated from that. Isn't that something....Apostates are usually the ones to cause new light to shine.

  Michael Jackson still a JW!

  last night on one of the entertainment magazines shows they said that michael jackson just gave an interview to tv guide.

  in it he says he is still a jw and still goes door to door in disguise.

  i had heard a rumour recently that he still donated a lot of money to the society but had no clue he still claimed to be one.

  MJ is NOT a JW. In fact the only active witness in that family is Rebbie who is a pioneer and her hubby is an elder. The mother, Katherine, still professes to be a JW but is irregular/inactive......
